AMY MORTON IS
A Leader Who Fights for Our Schools
Amy Morton for Bibb County School Board
Thank you for stopping by. I’m a small business owner, family therapist and proud public school graduate, parent and grandparent who has spent over 30 years advocating for our children and our schools. Now, I’m running for the Bibb County School Board because I believe this: every child in every school deserves the opportunity for an excellent education.
Here in Macon, we don’t walk away from challenging issues. We come together, we plan and we get results. That’s the Macon Way. We’ve taken on downtown redevelopment, violent crime and economic growth, and we’re seeing real progress. Now, it’s time to bring that same teamwork and determination to our public schools.
We must build on what’s working, fix what’s broken and refuse to settle for anything less than excellence. Strong schools require commitment, collaboration and smart stewardship of taxpayer dollars, including protecting seniors through property tax relief paid for by penalties on blighted properties that make our communities less safe.
Public schools are essential infrastructure. When they are strong, families choose Macon-Bibb County, businesses invest here and our community thrives.
If you believe our schools are worth the hard work, if you’re ready to support teachers, include parents and prepare students for the future, then this is your campaign.
I hope you’ll join us!
"Every child in every school deserves the opportunity for an excellent education.”

Our Vision for Strong Public Schools
We believe every child in every school deserves the opportunity for an excellent education in a safe and supportive environment.
We will build on what’s working, fix what’s broken and commit to the tough, sustained work it takes to succeed.
We will protect tax dollars by spending wisely and providing property tax relief for seniors, paid for with penalties on absentee owners of blighted properties.
We support preparing students for the careers of the future, so families choose Bibb County and our community continues to grow.
We will support our teachers and ensure they are empowered to deliver excellence in the classroom.
