A Lifetime of Service to Children and Families

Amy Morton’s life’s work has been helping Georgia’s children reach their full potential. As a family therapist for more than 30 years, Amy has counseled thousands of at-risk children and families, helping them overcome trauma, build resilience and find stability through education and community support.

Rooted in Public Education

Amy’s dedication to public schools runs deep—her mother was a classroom teacher for 40 years, and both of her children graduated from Bibb County public schools. Today, her granddaughter, Julia, is a proud sixth grader at Howard Middle School. Amy has volunteered for numerous local education initiatives, including ESPLOST campaigns and the successful effort to help the school system gain fiscal independence from county government—a reform that earned her the Extra Mile Award from Bibb County Schools.

Experienced Leadership

As the owner of Southern Majority LLC, a communications firm based in downtown Macon, Amy understands budgets, management and fiscal accountability. A graduate of Leadership Macon, Amy is a civic leader and a tireless advocate for better governance and transparency. Her record of success—from co-founding Better Georgia to leading community campaigns that strengthened public institutions—demonstrates her ability to lead with integrity and deliver results.
